Heat Illness Prevention Tips
As temperatures increase to the high 90s, it is important to stay cool, stay hydrated and stay informed. Below are some tips to help prevent heat illnesses:
- Hydrate before, during and after physical activity; drink plenty of water.
- Wear loose-fitting, lightweight clothing and apply sunscreen before going outside.
- Monitor length of time outdoors, rest frequently and seek shade.
- Stay in a cool environment; avoid strenuous physical activity outside during periods of extreme weather.
- Stay informed about weather-related health and safety updates.
