The Delano Joint Union High School District is pleased to announce the appointments of Valeria Rodarte Bermudez and Lorraine Alvarez to new leadership roles for the 2026–2027 school year.

Valeria Rodarte Bermudez will support athletic training services across the district. Throughout her career with DJUHSD, Valeria has served as an Athletic Trainer, Physical Education Teacher, Department Chair, and Assistant Principal. Her dedication to student-athlete health and safety, combined with her educational and leadership experience, has made her a respected advocate for students and athletics. Her expertise and commitment to excellence will be invaluable in supporting the continued success of our athletic programs.

Lorraine Alvarez has been appointed Assistant Principal at Chavez Collegiate High School. For more than a decade, Lorraine has served Chavez Collegiate as an English Teacher and Student Activities Director, helping foster a positive campus culture while building strong relationships with students, staff, and families. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she has served as a dual enrollment instructor and mentor teacher. Her passion for student success and dedication to school leadership will continue to benefit the Chavez Collegiate community.
