The District proudly celebrates the accomplishments of its Early College students, who were recently recognized at multiple Bakersfield College events highlighting their academic excellence and dedication.

On May 1, students attended the Bakersfield College Early College Celebration at the BC Outdoor Theater. During the ceremony, students were formally donned with their Early College graduation stoles—symbolizing their commitment to rigorous dual enrollment coursework and their progress toward earning college credits while still in high school.

Several students received special recognition for their achievements. Abigail Ambrosia was honored with the Grit Award, recognizing her perseverance and determination, while Jarred Bernz Felipe received the DJUHSD Outstanding Student Award for his exceptional performance and leadership.

Students were celebrated again on May 8 during the BC Delano Campus Pre-Commencement Ceremony, where their academic milestones were recognized alongside other Bakersfield College graduates. At this event, Alexia Valdez was named the BC Delano Campus Student of the Year, a prestigious honor highlighting her outstanding academic success and contributions.

The ceremony also featured remarks from the District’s CTE Director, whose speech emphasized the importance of career pathways, higher education opportunities, and the bright futures ahead for Early College students.

The celebration will continue as students prepare to participate in the official Bakersfield College Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 15, at Renegade Stadium, marking the culmination of their college achievements.

These recognitions reflect the hard work, resilience, and ambition of the District’s Early College scholars. The District congratulates all participating students on their remarkable achievements and looks forward to their continued success.
