How do I know which high school my student will attend?
Families can use the School Locator to identify their assigned high school.
What if I want my student to attend a different DJUHSD high school?
Parents may submit an Intradistrict/Open Enrollment Transfer request between January 1 and March 1 of the year preceding the requested school year.
What should incoming freshmen do before the first day of school?
Students should:
- Complete registration requirements.
- Activate their Aeries account.
- Review their schedule when available.
- Learn their transportation route.
- Review school expectations and bell schedules.
- Attend orientation activities if offered.
Will incoming freshmen receive information?
School sites will share information through ParentSquare, school websites, and district communications as details become available.
What opportunities are available to freshmen?
Students are encouraged to participate in academics, athletics, clubs, leadership programs, visual and performing arts, and other extracurricular activities.
What is the difference between middle school and high school?
High school grades become part of a permanent transcript and impact graduation, college admissions, scholarships, and career opportunities. Students should work closely with counselors beginning in ninth grade.
Who is my counselor?
Counselor assignments are available through your school's counseling office. Counselors support students with academics, graduation planning, college and career readiness, and social-emotional needs.
