State Superintendent of Schools announces nominations for CA Distinguished School

Congratulations to our teachers and staff on their most recent accomplishment.  Mr. Tony Thurmond, State Superintendent of Schools, announced that only two Kern County high schools, Cesar E. Chavez High School and Delano High School, were nominated and are eligible to apply for the prestigious California Distinguished Schools award, one of the highest honors for California schools. Not only is this a great accomplishment for our schools, but a great accomplishment for the community of Delano. According to his press release, “the 2019 California Distinguished Schools Program recognizes California middle and high schools that have made exceptional gains in implementing the academic content and performance standards adopted by the State Board of Education for all students.”  For a list of all schools please see link below.  We are proud of this nomination and the hard work that everyone in the District put in each and every day.
