PRE-REQUISITE: “B” in French II or better and/or teacher recommendation.

DESCRIPTION: French III is a two-semester course in which students explore more advanced speaking, writing and grammatical skills as well as cultural understanding of the French language. Students will be able to speak in French about household tasks, jobs and career choices along with current events, world problems and personal relationships. Students will also develop the ability to describe and talk about events that have happened and those that may or will happen. French III students will heighten their cultural awareness of other francophone regions, such as Martinique, Corsica and parts of Africa, Canada and even the United States. The communicative based textbook: “Discovering French Rouge(McDougal Littel, 1993) is the chief reference at this level along with the accompanying workbook for practice.
