Mr. Art Armendariz

Board President

Art Armendariz has been a city council member, city mayor, served on the Kern Economic Opportunities Commission, chaired the Redevelopment Agency, and been on the Kern County Council and Government.  Art served on St. Mary’s School Board of Trustees, Delano Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees, Bakersfield College Delano Campus Advisory Board, and Kern County Superintendent Advisory Council.  He is currently serving as a Board Member for the Delano Joint Union High School District Board and the State-Wide Latino School Board Association. 

Art also devotes a great deal of time to volunteer organizations.  He has been a member of the Community Alliance since 1992.  He coached Babe Ruth Baseball and has served as the president of the Delano Babe Ruth Association.  He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus. 

Art’s goal is to continue hiring top quality teachers who believe in the educational practices that will inspire our youth, the future leaders of our community, to “Dream – Believe – and Achieve” their life-long goals.  He believes every child has a right to quality education that will enable them to achieve their dream.
