Welcome

  • The Delano Joint Union High School District is excited about a new chapter of learning for our high school students.  We are committed to provide the best possible education for all students as we prepare them to transition to post-secondary education, career training or the workforce.

As we began the school year, we partnered with Bakersfield College to offer several sections of dual enrolled and articulated classes.  These classes will allow our students the opportunity to receive high school and college credit at the same time, as long as they are meeting the academic expectations of the class.  This is a great opportunity for the students of DJUHSD and our community.

Statistics show that students who are able to take college level courses while in high school have better retention rates and more success in college.  There is a financial incentive as well due to the fact that our students will earn college credit without the college expenses.  With dual enrolled classes, our students will be able to earn college credit free of charge and reduce the number of requirements that will be needed as they transition to post-secondary education.  In addition, our students will also have access to all resources that Bakersfield College offers.

In order for our students to enroll in a dual enrollment course offered by the district, they are required to apply to Bakersfield College.  Our staff will assist the students in completing the necessary steps to register as a Bakersfield College student.  We ask for your support and assistance as we begin this new chapter of education for our district.
