Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit in early on so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Good attendance will help children do well in high school, college, and at work.
It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to contact the school's attendance office as soon as possible when their student is absent from school. Additionally, most schools have a process in place for notifying parents by phone if the school has not already been contacted concerning the absence. However, parents and guardians can verify their son's or daughter's attendance at any time by contacting the attendance office.
