Registration Process

  • New to Delano? Enroll your child in school as soon as you can. Enrolling early also ensures your child can receive bus transportation on the first day of school. This will make it much easier for you and your child when the first day of school rolls around and it’s coming sooner than you think!

    Students new to the district will be assigned to their base schools. Locate your base school.

    Registration Requirements:

    • Documentation of Age may include: (Education Code 48002)
      • A certified copy of a birth certificate or a statement by the local registrar or county recorder certifying the date of birth
      • A duly attested baptism certificate
      • A passport
      • when none of the above documents is obtainable, an affidavit of the parent/guardian
      • Other means prescribed by the Board
    • Immunization Record
    • Reasonable Evidence of Residency (Education Code 48204.1)
      • One utility bill under parent/guardian name such as gas, light, etc.
      • Property tax payment receipts.
      • Rental property contract, lease, or payment receipts.
      • Pay stubs.
      • Voter registration.
      • Correspondence from a government agency.
      • Declaration of residency executed by the parent or legal guardian of a pupil
        • Consistent with Section 11432(g) of the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. Sec. 11301 et seq.), proof of residency of a parent within a school district shall not be required for an unaccompanied youth, as defined in Section 11434a(6) of Title 42 of the United States Code. A school district shall accept a declaration of residency executed by the unaccompanied youth in lieu of a declaration of residency executed by his or her parent or legal guardian.

    Monday - Friday
    8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
